R&T B.V. started as a small, family-run business in 1997. Starting with only one customer, owners Roger Klunder and Tom Jacobs soon identified the need for a more comprehensive and professional cleaning service. Today, R&T B.V. is active in 52 countries and has become one of the most flexible and versatile providers of cleaning services in the cleaning world.
Our portfolio has vastly increased since the start, but we have not lost touch with our core principles. We believe that it is important to look after people. “I only wanted to take over my father’s cleaning business if I could take on the venture with my best friend, Tom. As boys, we used to clean schools for his company together. When we first started, the two of us did everything. We worked about 80 hours a week. One of us would take a quick nap on the mammoth rollers while the other was cutting floor pads to the point of bleeding fingers. We constantly had our hair up because everything was static. Even though it was hard work, we always had fun and still have the same drive to improve and grow. Tom and I have the best business conversations on the road together.”

Our approach has never changed. We grow and innovate constantly, always looking for better solutions for you and your clients. For example, if we come across something new at a business fair that might be of added value to you, we immediately contact the supplier. If, for whatever reason, we are unable to strike a partnership with this supplier, we will look for the best alternative and do business with a different manufacturer. We will incorporate either our brand name or yours onto the product, depending on the demand.
We cut the floor pads at R&T, pack them properly, and provide the correct barcodes. Furthermore, the warehouse stocking an ample supply of cleaning products and packing material, provides a lot of logistic work. Some machines only function optimally when the thickness of the pads is adapted. We offer several solutions for this issue. There could be another reason why a floor pad is not functioning. In that case, we will help you starting by looking for whatever is causing the issue. For example, the kind of machine, the machine operation, or the use of chemicals can cause problems with the floor pads.
Floors, walls, windows, and any other surface will become radiant and hygienically clean with our products and our advice.

Is a floor pad too thick? Does it not remain straight? Does it fold in half? In that case, we will adapt your floor pad. Do you want a different size? We will cut it to the correct size.

We all want to work efficiently with the lowest cost possible. We would be happy to share our knowledge with you during one of our different courses at the training centre.
The environment and the climate are important to us. But we also want to be honest. We are yet to succeed in finding a “green” or waste-free way of working. Our roof has solar panels, making our CO2 submissions neutral. Moreover, the raw materials we use, especially the mammoth rolls we cut the floor pads out of, are used as much as possible. The remaining parts, for example, are used as scouring sponges. Unfortunately, this still leaves residual waste. We have a waste compactor on our premises to compress this residual waste as much as possible. This allows more to fit in a truck and reduces the need for transportation.
Since 1997, we have decreased the use of chemicals. We offer a complete assortment of floor pads that no longer need chemicals but just use water. In addition to this, our vehicle fleet is also transitioning. We drive hybrid or electric cars and encourage our employees to come to work by (electric) bike as much as possible.
We are active in the cleaning branch which uses a lot of water. R&T, and other companies in a similar branch, are working actively to try and reduce water usage. However, cleaning without water remains a utopia for now. It is easy for us to take the privilege of water, to drink and clean, for granted. Unfortunately, many countries cannot afford this luxury. Therefore, we support the Made Blue Foundation. This foundation is committed to providing clean drinking water in places where water is not easily accessible, meaning people often have to walk sixty kilometres or more to fill their jerrycans.
